Figured I'd take this moment to do a quick update on the future of this blog. It's still in its infancy, but the followers has just climbed to 15 and the visits per day are averaging in the 60s, so at least some people are reading it. Perhaps word of mouth with spread? That'd be great now wouldn't it?
Anyhow. I do want to update on a few things.
First off, starting on Tuesday, September 7th my second to last semester at UMass will be starting. I'm currently slated to be taking a bunch of high level classes, and working. Included in these classes will likely be a lot of reading, a lot of writing, and a lot of hair pulling frustration as I struggle with translation of Japanese on top of the Sociology courses and ancient Chinese. This may mean that the entries will slow down. That's not my intention, but it is possible. Especially for the first couple of weeks where work is going to be crazy with the move in and all that fun stuff.
Secondly, I'm looking to expand what I do here at the blog. Gaming advice, and game design stuff is all well and good, but frankly I'd like to do more. As such, I am thinking of taking a stab at doing some reviews of different systems and books. I'm going to keep the focus on Gaming, primarily table top, but I do want to go that way a bit.
Thirdly, I never did announce it, but there is a link on the right side of the screen for Guest Authoring a post. As I said, there's not much readership, but if you want to give blogging a shot but don't know where to get started, why not send an email my way. I'm going to screen for offensive stuff, but other than that as long as it is about gaming, I see no problem with letting people have their say. If I get an influx of such requests (haha, yeah right) I'll make it a weekly thing.
Fourthly, Not sure anyone cares but the session recap for last night's Greymoore session is going to be late. How late, I don't know. But I have to work tomorrow and Monday, and have been busy up until about 5 minutes ago today, so it depends on when I can write it up while dealing with the normal posts. It will go up soon.
Finally, I'm almost done my first editing run on M.A/C.C. there are still a lot of errors to fix, but the mechanics I think are solid and clear. It's done well in the two test campaigns we've run here, and is at a point where I'm looking for someone else to give it a shot. Someone who hasn't seen it before, who'd be willing to have their group give it a whirl for a few sessions and report back to me on how it went over, what questions people had, and how they handled said questions on the fly. If you'd be interested in that, shoot me a line at anthony [dot] laffan [at] realityrefracted [dot] com. Or just hit the mail me link at the top of the page there. I will be asking people who play test it not to share details of the system too widely though, but then again, I am planning/hoping to sell the thing at some point.
That's it. Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend!
