Short prompt for today. What do you like to do when game is cancelled? Is there a difference between having short notice and a lot of it?
Personally, I like to still get together with the other people involved in the game that can make it. From there, lots of things can happen. Movie, dinner, video games, just general hanging out. It can still be a fun evening. At the same time though, I game fairly exclusively with friends so it's not like anyone at the game table isn't someone I wouldn't hang out with normally.
Other nights though, not having game can almost be a relief. Sure, you love game and you'd go, but some weeks you're just wiped. Those days it can be good to have the quiet time in. Even if all I do is (shock! gasp!) use it to try to go to sleep early.
What about you?
Oh, and Happy Apocalypse!
Happy apocalypse sir! Since I mainly game with a society these days, I still turn up regardless, usually with a card/board game in rucksack instead of my rule books/character sheet, and if nothing else, I get a pint or two with friends, and often get offered an DPC role in someone else's game to keep me busy for the night...
